Toco ("the App") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This policy explains what information the App collects and how it is handled.
To provide the service, the App collects and stores the following. ・Places you save (name, address, location, notes, category, etc.) ・Photos you attach to a place ・Itineraries you create and their contents ・The display name you set ・An identifier assigned by authentication ・Your email address if you link an account (for Sign in with Apple, this includes the email provided by Apple or Apple’s private relay address; for Sign in with Google, the email address of your Google account) ・If you sign in with Google, the name and profile picture provided by Google (stored in Firebase Authentication for sign-in) ・For Pro users, purchase/billing status (whether and which purchase was made) When you read a screenshot to fill in the name and address of a place, the text is recognised entirely on your device. The image you pick for reading is never sent anywhere.
We use the collected information for the following purposes. ・Providing saving, display, and sharing of places and itineraries ・Storing, showing and sharing the photos you attach to a place ・Sharing data within a group (including showing who added an item) ・Account authentication and data transfer ・Providing the Pro plan (paid features) and managing purchase status ・Maintaining and improving the App
The App automatically creates an anonymous account on first use. You may optionally link an account via email, Sign in with Apple, or Sign in with Google. Linking lets you keep your data after switching or reinstalling devices. Authentication uses Firebase Authentication provided by Google. With Sign in with Apple, a private relay address that hides your real email may be provided based on your Apple settings. With Sign in with Google, the email address, name and profile picture of your Google account are provided.
Pro plan purchases and subscription payments are processed through Apple (App Store) on iPhone and through Google (Google Play) on Android. The App does not collect or store payment details such as credit card numbers. We may use RevenueCat to manage purchase status, handling information such as whether and which purchase was made.
Collected information is stored in Firebase (Cloud Firestore / Authentication / Cloud Storage) provided by Google. Photos are stored in Cloud Storage. Data is managed under appropriate security measures.
Because the App stores your data on a server, the operator is technically able to view it. The operator does not look at the places, photos or itineraries you save, except to answer an inquiry, investigate a fault, or where required by law.
Except as required by law, the App does not sell or provide your information to third parties. Note that members of the same group can see shared places and itineraries. We also use external services such as Google (Firebase and Sign in with Google), Apple, and RevenueCat to the extent necessary to provide the service.
You can delete your account anytime from the in-app settings. Deletion removes data tied to you (places, photos, itineraries, display name, account information, etc.). Some data you shared with other members in a group may remain on the group side. If you no longer have the app, or for details of what is deleted, see https://rgbc5skmy2-dot.github.io/toco-legal/delete-account.en.html.
The "Open in Maps" feature launches Apple Maps or Google Maps. Handling of information at the destination follows each service’s own privacy policy.
This policy may be revised as needed. We will notify you in the App of significant changes.
